vermont’s going green award + people’s choice award | commercial: vermont law school, center for legal services
This project is a major renovation and addition, demonstrating that even older, existing buildings can be brought up to award winning efficiency standards. TruexCullins Architecture led the team in the design and construction of this project, which transformed a beloved, but deteriorating historic landmark into a new, efficient building serving a variety of purposes for the campus. vermont’s greenest building | commercial: bennington superior courthouse and state office building
The renovated building is now one of the healthiest and most energy efficient buildings in the State of Vermont. Maclay Architects of Waitsfield, VT and RicciGreen Associates, a New York-based architectural firm specializing in courthouse design, implemented the State’s vision of creating a healthy, productive work environment for state employees and a high-performing, energy efficient building. vermont’s greenest building | residential: Kallock residence
This Passive House located in Charlotte was designed by Pill-Maharam Architects and built as a four module modular home by Preferred Building Systems. Once the house was set, Yandow Green Builders was the General Contractor in charge of completing the project and making sure the energy efficiency goals were met. EUI: 18.6 kBtu/sf/yr
vermont’s greener award | residential: wolfger schneider residence
The home is owned by a retired engineer who did all of the energy modeling for the home and designed the house with the help of Dora Coates. The goal was to create a non-petroleum fuel based home and to achieve net zero energy usage. The integration of the radiant slab, sun room, air exchange heat recovery systems were all carefully thought out primarily by the owner. EUI: 24.3 kBtu/sf/yr
